If you've come to visit us, you most likely know what these are.
Chapulines are grasshoppers! They are way too much work to catch and fry at home, but you might want to try grilling green onions next time you have a cook-out. Those are seriously good with lime.

Oh you might find this story funny...I finally found a cute little Mexican store/hole in the wall restaurant sort of near the house that sells fresh corn tortillas, well the first time time that I went in to buy some I said "I'd like 2 kilos please" they thought this was hilarious and informed me that they only sell them by the lb! It never even occurred to me to ask for them by the lb :)
Really? I've never seen any tortilla places here sell them by the pound. So I take it you don't miss chapulines?
