Of tacos and leaving kids behind, Part 2

My other neglectful moment gives me shivers to this day. Bekah was a tiny newborn, no bigger than in this photo, the first time I took all five children on an outing to the city. After stocking up on groceries and other necessities, we all went to a sidewalk taco stand before heading back to our town.

Bekah was carefully placed in the shade, carseat and all, while the rest of us ate lunch. In all the hub-bub of paying the bill, getting leftover cokes put in plastic bags, rounding up the kids, loading everyone in the car, I completely forgot the baby! After four years of counting only four heads, I simply miscalculated.

Thankfully the owner of the stand noticed my mistake and came running after me, infant seat in his arms, before I drove off. Once again, God protected my child. Brings new meaning to the verse in Isaiah:

"Can a woman forget her nursing child
And have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, but I will not forget you." Isaiah 49:15 NASB

Oh Jamie Jo, these stories give me the shivers. However, since they all turned out ok they make me laugh a little. We've all done similar things.
