After all these years of long journeys through Mexico and across the U.S. we are flying this time around! I could probably fill a book with all our car adventures as a family. One summer we put 15,000 miles on our van. It's twenty hours just to the Texas border from here, even though it is only ("only" I say!) nine hundred miles. That's two murderous days of relentless boredom, bickering, nonstop snacking, umpteen pit stops, inevitable break-downs, and many memories.
Now that there are only five of us, it is not much more expensive to simply fly to Ohio, stopping in the Texas Hill Country and Dallas on the way up, and returning from Orlando in September. Luggage will be a challenge, but well worth it for the time and agony saved. Oh, and there is the slight matter of having to trust God for a set of wheels to use while we are in the states, but that's not too difficult for Him. You might join us in praying for this provision.
Thanks to Debbie Ward for use of her photos, taken when she came down on a team trip last year.

Of course you just have to wait until I'm out of the house til you FLY up with the family. Gee, that makes me feel special!
Sorry, Mancharita, darling. That's life. We had to find something good about losing you!
