Two-for-one trouble

As I post all these, there is a side of me that feels almost apologetic that my stories are not as life-threatening or earth-shattering as other missionary memoirs I've read and heard. Honestly, though, I am grateful that all our near-disasters ended up so benign. It is all to the glory of God and a testimony to the power of prayer. We have always boasted a solid prayer backing by the saints back home.

This equally lame story is about a time we were traveling to the migrant camps. Jim pulled over once to check the radiator, which always struggled with the added strain of towing a travel trailer. While Dad was adding water to the engine, Mikey went to the trailer to retrieve something. That's when he "just happened" to notice that the trailer tire had no tread left! I say, "just happened" because I really do not believe in coincidence. God divinely orchestrates the events in our life to point out trouble along the way. We were thankful to be able to fix two problems in one stop!

Below is a photo that brings new meaning to "home schooling on the road"....

Hey - just wanted to say I really enjoy reading your blog and am so grateful that we haven't had as many exciting episodes on our trips. But then we've not driven as far either!

Count your blessings, Hypatia! Thanks for taking time to leave a comment. Sometimes blogging feels like speaking to an empty auditorium, you know?
