Nonnie update

Once again the prayers of the saints have stormed heaven, and we have seen results. Jane is doing so much better than expected that Jim canceled his plans to fly up this week. Thank you so much for those who prayed, and those who called and visited her today. Jim's brother Tom is concerned that she needs more rest, so the phone hours were limited today. If you do go to visit her, please keep it short. Thanks for your understanding. She is able to walk around a bit, which is great news. Jim reports that she sounds much clearer today on the phone compared to yesterday. We'll know more in a few days what the next step will be, whether she must go to an assisted living facility while undergoing physical therapy, or whether she can return home.

Meanwhile on the home front here, we are enjoying "barbacoa" that the neighbors kindly shared with us today. Day of the Dead is one holiday the Christians do not honor, but our unsaved neighbors generally bring over a small bucket of goat in a unique spicy sauce that we love, along with "dead bread" as we call it, which is a dry loaf we dip in hot chocolate.

The weather turned cool today, with a bit of unseasonable rain, so barbacoa and hot chocolate is the perfect treat. Jim and Jonny are over at an American neighbor's house eating a bowl of chili and watching the World Series on cable TV tonight. We don't have TV reception at our house, so this is a treat for them!

Again, we are very thankful Jim did not have to rush to Ohio, and thankful that Nonnie is being well taken care of by "Uncle" Tom.
