This seems to be a new theme. Today my third son graduated from college, and I wasn't there. It's all good. Thanks to Facebook I got to see the photos even though I couldn't be part of the celebration.
“And
everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother
or children or fields for my name’s sake, will receive a hundred fold
…” Matt. 19:29

Congratulations, Mike! We are so proud of you. I wish I could have been with you.
Another event I missed this week due to life in Oaxaca (specifically hosting a fabulous team from a home church) was Jonny's English class performance of Midsummer Night's Dream on Friday afternoon.
(Thanks to my friend, Donna Shaver, for taking photographs for us absent parents.)
Last night I also missed a banquet honoring the seniors, including many of my blogging students from last semester (and friends of Bekah's) at Oaxaca Christian School. Being busy, I failed to RSVP, having missed an email that might have made it clear I was even invited to attend. It looks like it was a fun evening.

Again, thanks to Facebook and photographer friends for commemorating events when I wasn't there.
I've grown accustomed to "not being there" when my nieces and nephews graduate, get married, and even have babies. I accept that there are occasions when I can't be there for my own children's important events. (It particularly pained me to never see Chris perform as part of the drama club at LeTourneau University, though I did go to his )
Now I guess I am taking the whole can't-be-in-more-than-one-place concept to a whole new level.
