Another wedding coming up....

A year ago we were celebrating Chris and Amy's wedding, little suspecting that only a year later Mike would be the groom to an Amy we had not even met.  August 13 is the date.  Peoria, Illinois is the place.  Another fun family reunion for the Loker family in the works.  46 days and counting. (Thank You, Lord!)

It's funny, but a mom always wonders what kind of person her children will grow up to marry.  No matter how hard I apply my imagination, I never can get a picture in my head of what that "mystery date" (remember that game?) will look like.  Somehow all three times, my boys have picked exactly the right girl with no help whatsoever from me!  Imagine that.  Maybe I'll let Jonny pick his own bride, too, someday.  With the girls?  No way promises.

Some people might be dismayed at the relatively short courtship/ engagement time, but anyone who sees these two together would have a hard time disputing that this appears to be a match made in heaven.  No one would want to set them up as a pattern to follow, but their story is a sweet one.  Since it isn't my story to tell, sadly I will have to leave you in suspense.  You can read a little bit about it on their wedding page at http://vandervoorn-loker.ourwedding.com/.  Before long they will be adding more photos and stories, so you might check back later.

We got to spend a week getting to know Amy earlier this month, in fact the very week that the engagement became official.  Here are some photos of our time with her.  We love Amy already!
