Excuses, excuses

The trouble with letting a blog lie silent is that there is no catching up. With all my intentions of keeping up with both this and my new Women of the Harvest blog, *IRL In Real Life with Jamie Jo, it's just not happening.

Another website to help you piece together what I've been up to is Faith Hayes' blog, http://www.thehayeszoo.blogspot.com/ which I have referenced in the side bar. Faith is my chic, witty, hippie-wannabe friend who is keeping me young in spite of my 50th birthday coming up this Saturday.

I've got her in on my Kombucha Tea brewing, and in turn she has got me substituting olive oil with castor oil (3:1) for my expensive Clinique face soap. Together we attempted making coconut oil, which you can see and read about on her blog. After that disastrous but fun experiment, we spent an entire day in the city walking from one market to various health food-type shops, seeing what kind of organic produce is available. Yes, we are becoming quite the back-to-nature hippie girl missionaries.

All this I write with a perfectly straight face while sipping one of Bekah's famous NON-healthy "Bekahlocachocomocha" drinks. You see why I need Faith in my life?

Photos of Christmas and a recent trip to Nicaragua are on my Facebook page if you want to see them soon. Otherwise, I'll try to post a few here someday.

Again, sorry for the lag in communication. I'll try to send an email update soon for those who are on my list.

Ahem - and the recipe for the famous "Bekahlocachocomocha" drinks? or do you have to have a Bekah...

I think you need a Bekah for the bekahlocachocomocha. Sorry about that. Basically I think it's ice cream, oreo cookies, coffee, and lots of different kinds of chocolate syrup and powder, topped with whipped cream and cute little sprinkles. It's her signature drink made in the Vitamix.
