M&Ms from Mexico

This is just a quick sampling of some of the faces we take for granted here in Mexico. Last month we hosted a team from Ohio that spent several days doing children's outreaches. These photos were taken by a photographer on that team, Debbie Ward. This week Hannah is working at a children's camp just outside Oaxaca City, working with kids from a village several hours away. She phoned today saying that these kids never run out of energy. Ha! Now she gets a glimpse of how motherhood feels. She is outnumbered and out-energied. Hopefully she is gaining some good experience even though she had to stay in Mexico this summer. Other workers at the camp came all the way from Biola University to help.

Summer is always a challenge, trying to keep all the kids occupied and happy. Next week our younger ones will attend VBS at the local church, a good way to force our reluctant Spanish speaker (Debbie) to use her second language. Hannah will likely get recruited to help out there, too, once she returns from this camp. By the time boredom sets in, it will be time to start school again. We plan to start the new school year in about two weeks.
